Q: Why should I choose Charissa Joy Photography?
A: Photography is my passion, and I love helping people get the beautiful photos that their family deserves. I offer a free consultation (over the phone, through e-mail or in person) where we will discuss prior to booking what you are looking for in your photos. This gives me a chance to better get to know you, and get a feel for your family's personality. I also offer a no minimum print guarantee. In the event that you are not satisfied with your photos, you are not obligated to purchase any of the prints. I will schedule a new shoot with you and your family to give you top notch results, and you are free to purchase the prints that you desire.
Q: What is included in your packages?
A: The packages and prices are displayed under the "Pricing" page, but can be customized to suit your needs. ** Note that not all packages include a disc with your prints, but can be purchased for additional cost. **
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: I will offer a multiple booking discount, as well as a referral discount. The multiple booking discount will save you up to 25% of your package price when you book a second shoot, or have a friend or family member who books when you do. The referral discount will apply when a previous client has given you our name. The previous client will receive 15% off their next shoot, and you will receive 10% off of the price of your package.
Q: What type of retainer is required?
A: 50% of the package price is due upon booking your shoot (non-refundable). Your spot will not be guaranteed until you have paid the retainer. The remaining balance is due upon the day of the shoot. In the event that you are unable to make it to the shoot, I require 48 hours notice to fill your spot. Failure to do so may result in losing your retainer, and your shoot will need to be re-booked.
Q: What is a release form and why do I need to sign one?
A: A release form is essentially a permission form. All photos taken by Charissa Joy Photography are copyrighted property. The release form outlines copyright laws, and by signing you acknowledge that you understand that while you may use the photos purchased for your own personal use you may not sell them for your own financial gain. In addition, the printing of photos taken by Charissa Joy Photography is only permitted for those photos that you have purchased printing rights (see below). A violation of this agreement is considered copyright infringement.
Q: What are printing rights?
A: Printing rights are what you purchase when you purchase the photos. As you may have noticed on the pricing page, most packages come with only 10-20 photo prints. This means that with the package price comes the printing rights for those photos, and only those photos. They will be given to you on a disc for your future personal printing use. Should you decide that you cannot choose only 10 photos, you may purchase the printing rights for additional photos as shown in the pricing section. This will allow you to choose the photos that you would like to have printed, and gives you the ability to print as many as you would like.
Q: Will you travel for my shoot?
A: I am willing to travel for client's photo shoots as long as it is within reason. ** Note that an additional fee may apply for travel ** This will be discussed at the time of your consultation.
